Sweet Pink Magnolia

Hi all!

I'm sorry for the very late post, been a little distracted by other things not cake related these couple past months..

But between the hectic distractions, I came up with this very simple and elegant wedding cake design.
A clean white two tiered square weeding cake with royal icing swirls on the sides, topped with a pale pink magnolia flower and a thick tree branch peeking behind it..

Here's a little closer look on the gumpaste magnolia flower,

Hope you like it!

A Little Christmas Treat

Merry Christmas everyone!!! =D

For this special time of the year, I have a special Christmas treat for everyone:

A Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Swiss Meringue Buttercream,

And......

A bunch of Vanilla Almond Cupcake with Almond SMBC with a touch of Lemon Curd!
(Yes! yes! Lemon Curd.. This was my first lemon curd, and I couldn't believe how easy it is to make and how delicious it can be). Its sweet and lemony smell complete the almond flavour perfectly..

I made them extra moist this time to satisfy all tongues and tummies ;p

Enjoy!

The Antique Butterfly

Hi all!

Here's another pretty simple design I can share..

The butterfly body was made out of fondant, and the wings were made of piped royal icing on an elaborated pattern.
A design is simple enough to make your piped royal icing pop up! =)

Enjoy!

Last week project - The Peacock Cake

I've been having this design for awhile and finally have the time to execute it. The design itself is not too complex, it just take forever to prepare the fondant "tail". The cake was slightly slanted 9" round chocolate mudcake covered with chocolate ganache. All the decorations are colored fondant painted with gold lustre dust and black edible marker.

Enjoy!

Last week project - Designer Handbag cake

This small handbag cake was made of 9" round chocolate mud cake, something quite similar to the Planet Cake Novelty 103 Complex Handbag. Thanks to "Lorraine @ Not Quite Nigella" to post the step by step guide so I can get the idea how to make the handbag cake.

I tweaked the design a little bit since I only had a round cake in hand that time, and changed the handle design to match the shape.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

First Post

Hello all,

This is my first blog post!
From now on, I'm going to use this tool to keep track of my cupcakes and cake creations.
And for the starter, these are my very first cupcakes design after I got married and moved to California. They are vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting, chocolate cupcakes and chocolate ganache frosting (oh! yum!), lemony lemon cupcake with lemon buttercream frosting! Enjoy!
